6-Year-Old Kid from New England Launches a ‘Poopah Scoopah’ Business
Do you remember the first time you actually earned money? Whether it was selling a box of girl scout cookies, slinging lemonade on a hot Summer day, or weeding the neighbor's garden, there was something so exciting about holding that crisp bill that you worked so hard to get!
Some kids learn the value of money earlier than others, and for Luca Arpin from Rhode Island it happened at the age of six.
Luca wanted a kitten more than anything in the world but there was one minor problem, he had no source of income. His little wheels started turning. I like to imagine Luca as a little business man, sitting there evaluating his skill set and brainstorming what his potential customers might want to outsource to him.
The answer came to him like a light bulb moment: SCOOPING POOP! All pet owners have to do it but it's no one's favorite part. But Luca has expressed that he really doesn't mind it! God love him!
His mom works at an animal shelter, and he likes to tag along and help out so he's had PLENTY of practice.
He quickly started going by the name "Poopa Scoopa Luca." (Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?) And his business was off!
The best part is that Luca's hard work has paid off! According to the NY Post, Luca used the proceeds from his dog poop waste collection venture and was able to adopt a cat named Pebble from a local shelter.
The future is bright for this young entrepreneur. Congrats, Luca! Your parents must be so proud of you!
