It's more common than you think, but when it happens in your town, you have scratch your head.

That's what the residents of this New Hampshire town are doing on Facebook.

Apparently, Towle Lane in Rochester, New Hampshire, is giving residents a good laugh, though a few angry comments have surfaced as well.

On the "You Know You're From Rochester, NH" Facebook Page, many locals stopped to comment on the photo posted concerning a new street sign.  It seems the Towle Lane sign was changed out to Towel Street.

Residents of Towle Lane were notified it would be changing to Towle Street, but that's not what happened.

One comment says a misspelling happened on her street too, stating "and we live on Ickory Lane...no H."  Yet another comment says "one end of Balsam is signed Balsam Street and the other sign is Balsam Lane."

If this is true, then the city has a little homework to do about signage.

It's not the first signage question in Rochester, New Hampshire, as noted by followers of this same Facebook page last month.

After searching for Towle Street, Rochester on Google Maps, I found it, but it was Towle Lane when I checked on Waze, and there was no Towel Street on either.

The contributor states the change was made for the 911 system, but if first responders are using either of these map sites, they'll be confused.

Somewhere along the way of changing a street name, there was no proof reading before it was printed.  Residents seem confident the mistake will be corrected, but for now it's making a whole lot of people chuckle.
