Sadly, Sassy Biscuit in Dover, New Hampshire, Has Closed Permanently
It's a sad day in Dover, New Hampshire.
One of our favor breakfast places in the region has closed its doors for good.
The Sassy Biscuit on Washington Street in Dover has taken down the big "SASSY" letters inside and locked their doors. Yes, it was without warning, but there is another Sassy Biscuit Company. Unfortunately, it's in Billings, Montana.
The company tried to make the New Hampshire business work, but despite all the efforts, decided it was best to close up the shop.
The weird thing is that I was in Dover last night and saw lights on in the Sassy Biscuit, and thought it was odd that a breakfast/lunch place would be open at 6pm. Then I saw the news this morning.
According to the Facebook post, the owners have sold the location to a new buyer. No word yet on who the new buyer is, but Sassy partners wish them all the best, and thank the Dover community for all the support.
Here's what the owners posted about the transition:
We hope for a smooth transition for our staff and wish them the best on their next endeavor. The new concept will interview all employees and see if they are a good fit. We will pay our team 2 weeks additional pay as they transition into new jobs.
There was nothing like the Sassy waffles and sammies, and Dover will miss this great breakfast spot. But we hope the Sassy Biscuit owners take wonderful memories with them of New Hampshire and the friendly folks of the Northeast.
We wish you good luck in Montana.
