There’s something about Mother’s Day that sneaks up on you every year. One minute it’s still kind of chilly out… next thing you know, it’s May and you’re standing in a checkout line holding a card you picked in 12 seconds and a bouquet that’s already leaning to one side.

I'll admit, I've been guilty of this many times.  Then I remember, she made me chicken noodle soup when I was sick.  She gave birth to me, and she had to put up with me when I thought I knew everything. She helped me with homework.  She is MOM and she helped with everything, even when SHE was sick and never took. day off.

We can do better than that this year.

And honestly, the Seacoast makes it pretty easy.

One of the best parts about living around here, from Dover to Portsmouth to Hampton, is that you don’t have to go far to find something thoughtful. Whether it’s grabbing coffee and pastries from a spot like Breakaway Cafe, booking a relaxing spa day at Sanctuary Salon & Spa, or putting together a “favorite things” basket with stops around town… it just feels more personal when it’s local.

And that’s really the whole point.

Because if you think about it, most moms aren’t sitting around hoping for more stuff. They want a little time, a little effort, and something that shows you actually thought about them. That could be a handwritten note paired with something from Gus & Ruby Letterpress… or brunch reservations somewhere she loves like The Friendly Toast where she doesn’t have to lift a finger.

Even something simple, like a walk along the water, coffee in hand, no schedule, goes a long way.

So yeah, flowers are great. Keep the flowers.

But maybe this year… add something that feels a little more her. Below are 20 Seacoast gift ideas for Mom
