OnlyInYourState.com recently posted an article about Lonesome Lake Trail and why it is one of the best hikes in the Granite State. Hiking in the Summer can be pretty strenuous if it's a wicked hot day. The sun is beating down on you and all you want to do is chug ice cold water and then jump into a body of it. Well, with this trail you can!

The hike itself is only 1.6 miles. If you are someone who is pretty active it should be doable. But the site reminds us that it does get pretty steep in some parts gaining just over 1,000 feet in elevation.

The trail is said to be very scenic with beautiful views at every turn, like this beautiful waterfall:

WHOA! That looks like a postcard.

At the end of the hike you will reach a beautiful crystal clear lake. It will be calling your name to take a refreshing dip. And you earned it. Rock on with your bad self!

The article states that the Lonesome Lake Trail is accessible from the south parking lot of Lafayette Place Campground in Franconia Notch State Park. I have added this hike to my Summer bucket list!

Have you ever hiked Lonesome Lake Trail?
