Small Earthquake Rattles Parts of New Hampshire
A small earthquake shook parts of New Hampshire Tuesday.
According to a report from the Associated Press, a magnitude 1.9 quake shook parts of New Hampshire shortly after 5:30pm Tuesday evening and had residents in the community of Sanbornton describing it as a large rumble. The Weston Observatory recorded the quake's epicenter to be approximately 3 miles west of the town proper.
I know Sanbornton fairly well. My uncle used to live there and we would visit often. It's such a beautiful area of the Granite State.
Small earthquakes are not uncommon in New England. In the past month, four earthquakes under magnitude 2 have been recorded across New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine.
