All aboard! The season kicks off for multiple scenic routes in the Granite State this weekend.

Memorial Day weekend brings the unofficial start of summer. Camps aren't the only seasonal fun destinations opening up, as the Hobo and Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroads are ready for another year.

According to WMUR News 9, both start operations this Saturday before switching to daily rides June 21, in the heart of summer tourist season. Hobo's scenic tourist excursion train departs from Hobo Junction in Lincoln, taking passengers on an 80-minute round-trip ride along the Pemigewasset River. The Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad will have you riding along the western shore of Lake Winnipesaukee and Paugus Bay.

Whether it's a day-trip, or a family excursion, these train rides are considered some of the best outdoor activities in the state. You can find the Hobo Railroad just off Exit 32 on I-93. The Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad is located at 154 Main St. in Meredith, New Hampshire with a satellite station on the Boardwalk at 211 Lakeside Ave. in Weirs Beach, New Hampshire.
