The #1 Pizza Destination in the U.S is this New England State
New Yorkers and people from the tri state area get a little high and mighty when it comes to pizza and bagels. They think they have those two things figured out and that their version is superior to all the rest. I won't argue that nothing quite beats New York style slice of 'za, but there are other parts of the country that have a pretty solid grasp of the concept.
We have some pretty great pizza places in New Hampshire. I was really sad to see Luigi's close in Portsmouth's West End. Their slices were thin and massive and the little pepperonis were both adorable and delicious. But hey, you win some you lose some! Maybe Luigi's will make a comeback someday.
It is a debate as old as time about which city/state has the best pizza, but there’s a surprising champion when you’re asking who has the most.
A new study by Maine Lobster Now says New Hampshire, not New York or Chicago, is America’s top pizza state. With just over one thousand pizzerias, it has 72.73 per one hundred thousand people, beating others by a lot.
The study looked at pizzerias per person, Google searches for pizza, and average pizza prices. New Hampshire’s love for pizza makes it number one, while New York ranks 29th with only 19 pizzerias per one hundred thousand and pricier pies at $19.73. Kansas, West Virginia, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Indiana also rank high. Kansas stands out for the cheapest pizzas at $14.96
What is your favorite New Hampshire pizza spot? I am on the hunt now since my beloved Luigi's closed. Shoot me a message. I am willing to travel for the perfect slice.
