The Band Perry Bring Country Cheer to Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting [Watch]
The Band Perry are getting in the holiday spirit. On Wednesday evening (Dec. 2), the country trio performed live during the taping of Christmas in Rockefeller Center, which was broadcast on NBC.
Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry stood on a stage right under the unlit Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center to perform a spirited version of "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town."
Dressed in a fashionable white sweater with a matching white scarf and white pants, Kimberly belted the song to a packed audience within Rockefeller Center. The stage was festively decorated in white Christmas trees and holiday ornaments, further accentuating the holiday feel of the song.
In addition to the Band Perry’s performance, Sting, James Taylor, Mary J. Blige, Andrea Bocelli, Andy Grammer, Carly Rae Jepsen and Pentatonix also graced the stage above the ice skating rink to sing live from New York. This year marks the 83rd annual lighting of the Rockefeller Christmas tree and the 18th televised lighting.
The 2015 Rockefeller Christmas tree comes from Gardiner, N.Y. and is a 78-foot tall Norway Spruce. The 80-year-old tree is adorned with more than 30,000 lights.
Last week, the Band Perry announced that they'd be playing the tree lighting ceremony with a photo on Instagram. This week, they offer fans to capture some backstage scenes before their performance.
