The Best Snow Tubing Spot In New Hampshire
I admit it...I'm not the biggest fan of snow. I can't ski. Going snowshoeing just sounds ridiculous. I love fishing, but not enough to sit out on the ice for hours on end to maybe get a nibble. But there's one thing I love to do in the snow...tubing!
Snow tubing reminds me of the kind of fun I used to have sledding as a kid on the big hill next to my grandparents house. I would be out there for hours, lips turning blue, gloves caked with snow. My grandfather would finally have to come and pull me back inside the house.
When I lived in Maine I used to take my sons and their friends tubing. I think I may have had more fun than they did. If you're looking for a great spot to go snow tubing with your kids or your friends...check out Great Glen Trails on NH Route 16 in Pinkham Notch, New Hampshire...12 miles north of Jackson, NH and 8 miles south of Gorham, NH.
According to their website GPS sometimes has a hard time finding them. They suggest trying 1 Mount Washington Auto Road, Gorham, NH or just type in Great Glen Trails or Glen House in the GPS Attractions or Points of Interest page.
Once you're there...get ready for fun. A full day tubing pass is only $15. Kids four and under snow tube for free. They're open from 8:30am to 4:00pm.
Great Glens Trails offers lots of other great outdoor fun besides snow tubing. Check out all of their winter activities HERE.
