The Royal Wedding Has A New Hampshire Connection

I don't get the appeal of the whole Royal Wedding. But it seems like everyone is talking about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. And while the rest of the world chats and gossips about the new duchess-to-be...New Hampshire may be the place that holds claim to the right to chatter a little more than others.

If you haven't heard...Meghan Markle's great-grandmother grew up in Meredith. And she now has several cousins living in New Hampshire. According to WMUR-TV, Merrill Fay, owner of Fay's Boat Yard in Gilford, just discovered he's third cousin to duchess, after a family member discovered the connection. He says his  grandmother was the sister of Markle's great-grandmother.

Fay told WMUR he isn't really disappointed about not being invited to the nuptials. But he is enjoying telling everyone he's related to royalty. He may even watch the wedding now that he know's they're family.
