The Turkeys Have Gone Wild in Boston And People Are Afraid
As New Englanders, I think we have all been in a situation where traffic has been held up to let a gaggle (the correct term is actually "Rafter" but I prefer gaggle) of turkeys cross the road. They seem to have a blatant disregard for human beings and that some of us have a schedule! Places to be, other humans to see!
According to CBS Boston, the turkeys in Jamaica Plain, MA are more vicious than they are inconsiderate. There have been several accounts of turkeys in the Moss Hill area of JP getting way too close to humans for comfort. Some have even been cornered and pecked at!
I'm not sure why these birds are behaving so aggressively, mating season perhaps? It is upsetting that JP residents don't want to leave their houses out of fear of being cornered by an angry turkey clan. Hopefully, this issue will be resolved soon!
