5 ‘Chill’ Things to Do on New Year’s Eve or Date Night Near Portsmouth, New Hampshire

With New Year's Eve right around the corner, I asked my wife the typical question: "What should we do?"

Truthfully, this is an every-weekend question. Couples, friends, and individuals say, "What should we do tonight?" about six times a month (not real data).

Before I get into a few hyper-local ideas for NYE or a date night out around the Portsmouth/Kittery area, you should know these are all very "chill." Lowkey. Not intended to keep you up and out until midnight.

If you are not familiar, there are a lot of cannabis shops in the Kittery/Elliot, ME area. How's this for a date night:

1. Stop at any of the numerous dispensaries, and find something delicious.

3. Race against the clock. Go shopping at KTP. Hit the outlets. Stay local. But make your shopping night out fun... and giggly. (Make sure to have a DD).

Just note that while cannabis is legal under State of Maine law, federally, it is not legal. It is also not legal in New Hampshire.

"Touristy" Cocktail Tour:

My wife and I love being "tourists in our own town." AKA we go out with friends and plan a bar crawl to all of the hot spots in town.

There are so many walkable towns with a great bar scene: Portsmouth, Newmarket, Newburyport, Kittery, and so many more.

Grab some friends, PLAN IT OUT, and walk it out.
