Unfortunately these pandemic times have desensitized us a little. When we hear a restaurant is closing we say "AW MAN! NOT ANOTHER ONE!" But when it is a restaurant that you have grown to love and have experienced so many fond memories at, it hurts!

I always loved Rudi's even before I moved to Portsmouth! The food is great, the atmosphere is charming! The description on their website is 100% accurate:

"Rudi's has a charismatic atmosphere boasting an eclectic mix of downtown charm and uptown polish."

Rudi's took to their Facebook to announce that after 15 years in business, they are closing their doors:

This news hit the Portsmouth community hard. Rudi's is the best!

Rudi's was the first place I took my parents to dinner when I moved to Portsmouth.

Rudi's was where I would ask Steven to meet me for a Dirty Martini after a particularly bad (or good) day.

Liz makes the best martini! Here she is behind the bar:

Their charcuterie boards were my favorite! I'm gonna miss them :(

I will also miss meeting friends at Rudi's to enjoy their creative outdoor seating they made post-pandemic! It was really the best view of Market Square:

Though this news is nothing short of heartbreaking, we wish the whole Rudi's crew the best of luck on their next chapter. Thank you for all the years of smiles, service, outstanding cuisine, and being an integral part of our community!
