Enormous Consignment Store in Boston, Massachusetts, Offers $2 Per Pound With 800 lbs of New Clothing Every Weekend
Thrifting is having a big moment right now.
Granted, people have been thrifting clothing forever, but right now a lot of '80s and '90s styles are "in" making the number of people who thrift skyrocket.
When thinking of thrifting, the majority of people will think of three places: Goodwill, Savers, and the Salvation Army.
Well, a consignment store in Cambridge, Massachusetts, has thrifters all over the country flying in to see their enormous selection.
This is the Garment District.
The Garment District is enormous. Every weekend they put out 800 pounds (yes, you read that right...800 pounds) of new clothing.
As the mission of the Garment District is to be clean, green, and recycle clothing, these are not "new," but they could be new to you.
Clearly, this place has a ridiculous amount of inventory, which is amazing because there is nothing more frustrating than going thrifting somewhere you have gone before and there is nothing new...
But that is not even the best part.
The Garment District has a "by the pound" area in their store where they have hundreds of pounds of clothing on the floor for you to go through.
Why is it on the floor? Probably because there is just so much of it.
Anyway, the "by the pound" area is any thrifters dream. Fill a bag, weigh the bag, and pay $2 per pound.
That means you could get three outfits (I'm talking 3 shirts and 3 bottoms) for only $2. There are select times for the "by the pound" shopping which takes place Sunday - Thursday 11am - 8pm.
Check out the Garment District at 200 Broadway Cambridge, MA 02139, or online at their website.
