This behavior is just unacceptable. Restaurants are struggling to stay open; their employees are putting themselves out there at risk every day during this pandemic.  hey face the dangers of the pandemic, working long shifts with a mask, so the last thing they need is rude customers.

This takes complaining about your order to the next level.

According to WHDH.com, the manager of the Koto Grill & Sushi, Yan Lin, was physically assaulted by a customer over an order of fried rice and a dispute over a tip for the server.

And, it looks like it was all caught on surveillance tape.

Yan Lin tells the WHDH.com that “When the food comes out, she says, ‘I don’t want it.  It isn’t worth $10.”

Yan Lin said she took the rice off the bill for the group, but when it came time to check out, according to the news outlet, that was when she suggested the group of diners leave a tip for the server.  But that didn't seem to go over well.

I really like that the manager asked about the tip for the server, I mean she already took the rice order off the bill, so this in no way affected the server's service and all servers deserve a tip.

When the manager went to ring up the orders and run the credit cards through, the woman slammed Yan Lin into the wall and attacked her, the news outlet reports.

Weirdly, the group did sign the credit card receipt, WHDH stated. Nothing like leaving evidence at the scene of the crime.

Yan Lin shared the surveillance video of the attack and video of the group leaving the restaurant.  Hopefully, the attacker is caught, and the Koto Grill & Sushi gets some swift justice.

Reminder to tip your servers, this has been a hard year.  Always be kind and tip your server.  And it should go without saying DON’T HIT PEOPLE!
