Want a Lift Chair From One of New Hampshire’s Top Ski Mountains?
I have always wanted to be the cool family with a unique feature in my home. You know, a slide from the second story to the first, a fire pole to slide down, maybe baseball seats from a real stadium.
What about a chair from a real ski lift?
It would be outrageously cool to have a swinging ski lift chair hanging in a living room, back patio, or even off a front porch. Well, as of this weekend, you could also fulfill your childhood dreams of having an "antique" ski chair in your home, too.
Last week, Attitash Ski Resort announced that they are auctioning off 145 ski chairs from their original East / West Double, according to their website, as they are replacing the lift this year.
If you love Attitash, grew up skiing on it like I did, or just love shredding the powder and skiing in general, this is a pretty cool opportunity.
The lift's chairs are already pulled down and ready to be auctioned off.
The double chairs that are up for grabs are approximately 100 pounds in weight and measure approximately 48" wide, 7’7” tall, and 43" deep, according to the auction site.
I originally assumed that the proceeds from the old chairs would go towards the new chairs. "Out with the old, in with the new;" however, Attitash is doing something really incredible with the money raised.
The auction site claims that all of the money from the 145 chairs up for auction will go to Jen's Friends Cancer Foundation, the Bartlett Recreation Department, and the EpicPromise Foundation.
If you are interested in claiming one of these double chairs, I would preregister prior to the auction here.
The online auction opens this Friday, April 15, 2022 at 12:00 PM EST and closes Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 12:00 PM EST.
No specific chair number can be requested, as the chairs will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to the highest bidders at pick-up.
