Funeral today for former Boston Mayor Tom Menino
Former Boston Mayor Tom Menino's funeral procession will be taking a tour of the city he loved on the way to his funeral. The private Mass for family and friends is scheduled for noon Monday at Most Precious Blood Parish in Hyde Park The funeral procession will depart Faneuil Hall at about 10:45 a.m. and pass places of significance to the former mayor on the way to Hyde Park for the funeral Mass. Menino was diagnosed with cancer in February. He died Thursday at the age of 71.

Firefighters believe a fire that has damaged an old, vacant home in Newpor is suspicious.The blaze was reported at about 1:30 a.m. this morning. It was brought under control at about 3:30 a.m. The house is located at Pleasant andNorth Mainstreets. No injuries have been reported.

He was apprehended after applying for Social Security benefits using his true identity. His drug trafficker, by the way, was making marijuana-infused rum.
