I know people like to rag on pickleball because it has a silly name and is essentially a "lazy man's tennis", but there is a reason behind its continuous rise in popularity. It's because it's so dang fun.

It can be hard to make new friends as a grown adult, but I have met some fantastic new humans by playing pickleball. It's addicting! I would say that before I had Gwen I had a full-on DINKing problem (if you know, you know). I am dying to get back on the court when the warm weather hits and start working on my game.

However, I just learned that I might not have to wait for the warm weather after all!

If you are a pickleball enthusiast like me or are curious about this sport everyone seems to be talking about, there is a local place opening where you can sharpen your skills.

Newburyport Brewing Co. announced they will be repurposing their dormant brewing space out back into indoor, year-round pickleball courts.

The brewery said on Facebook,

"We have always focused on bringing people together in a friendly community-centric atmosphere. By adding pickleball into the mix (and bocce & shuffleboard, too), we’re offering some cool recreation and entertainment options to our lineup for you and your family to enjoy."

They will also be offering instructional clinics if your game could use a little work.

Make sure you reserve a court before you go! Everything you need to know is on their website. I'll see you in the kitchen!
