2 Arrested In Somersworth Incident Face Multiple Charges
(Somersworth, NH) - Two Somersworth residents were arrested Saturday after police were called when a male subject with a handgun threatened a resident in the Union Street area.
Police stopped a suspect vehicle a short distance away and located a handgun that had been reported stolen last year in Saco, Maine.
36 year old Damon Austin of Somersworth was charged with Reckless Conduct, Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of Marijuana.
The driver of the car, 33 year old Tanya Phillips of Somersworth, was charged with Accomplice to Reckless Conduct and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, because their 2-year old daughter was in the vehicle at the time.
Police later searched the couples apartment at 17 High Street and found 7 more firearms, 2 of which were identified as stolen. Police also seized a large amount of ammunition, an ounce of powdered cocaine, crack cocaine, trazadone tablets, scales and over $1700.00 in cash.
Further charges are expected as the investigation continues.
