The 2019 ACM Awards Single of the Year trophy goes to Dan + Shay! "Tequila" was announced as the category's winner during Sunday night's (April 7) awards ceremony, broadcast live from Las Vegas, Nev.

"Tequila" has earned Dan + Shay multiple awards nominations, and snagged them the Grammy Awards' Best Country Duo / Group Performance trophy. "Tequila" was produced by Scott Hendricks and the duo's Dan Smyers, who received multiple ACM Awards nominations for his production work on the Dan + Shay album.

It was the duo's second win in the broadcast's first half-hour. Earlier in the evening, "Tequila" won Song of the Year. The country star pair are also up in the category of Video of the Year.

The Single of the Year category was presented by Clint Black and Jessie James Decker, dubbed Black & Decker by the Class of '89 country legend while the two bantered onstage before announcing the winner of the trophy.
