4th of July Could Be a Record Breaker for NH Beach Businesses

Another day with near-record temps, with tourists and locals flocking to New Hampshire's seacoast. Business is benefiting from the warm-up.

It seemed like summer took forever to arrive. Just two weeks ago, I turned on a space heater... in June! Throwing out our recent history, the last few days have been pretty amazing. Tan lines have either been erased, or exasperated. Those with a few days off aren't the only ones befitting from our sudden summer.

The local economy is booming. 

According to WMUR News 9, Hampton Beach in particular has been a hotbed, drawing near record crowds. Multiple business owners have agreed the last few days have provided a welcomed surge.

At Big Steve’s Pizza, Shawn Thorton told WMUR that days like the Fourth of July are crucial: “We need this day. We look forward to this day all year long."

Traci Schaake, at JB’s Seafood, told WMUR: “Business has been fantastic. The beach is open. It’s the Fourth of July and it’s hot out. You can’t ask for anything more.”

Aside from a few showers Saturday, the weather is supposed to hold out all weekend, leading some to believe this could be a record breaking holiday for Fourth of July business.
