A Hampton Groomer Has Been Charged In The Death Of A Dog In Her Care
(Hampton, NH) - Hampton Police say that Beth Bessemer turned herself in Wednesday on a warrant that had been issued for her arrest.
Hampton Police began their investigation in late August after receiving a complaint from a woman who said her dog had died on June 21 while in the care of a groomer.
Police allege that Bessemer negligently permitted or caused the golden retriever in her care to be subjected to unnecessary suffering by leaving the dog unattended in a crate with a heated dryer blowing on him, and a noose around around his neck, which caused his death.
Bessemer faces two counts of Cruelty to Animals. She faces arraignment on the charges on October 30th.
As part of her bail conditions, Bessemer has been prohibited from contact with any other person's pets.
