A Portsmouth Chef Is Headed To A National Competition In New Orleans
(Portsmouth, NH) - David Vargas of Vida Cantina will participate in the Great American Seafood Cookoff on August 4th.
Vargas will be one of 10 chefs from across the country taking part in the event that promotes domestic, sustainable seafood.
The chefs cook their meals in front of a live audience and then face 6 judges who base their scores on presentation, creativity, composition, craftsmanship, flavor and more.
Vargas, chef and owner of Vida Cantina on Lafayette Road in Portsmouth, creates modern versions of authentic Mexican dishes.
The Great American Seafood Cookoff was established in 2004 and proceeds benefit the Louisiana Restaurant Association Education Foundation.
