Amazon Echo Called the Police and Saved This Woman’s Life During a Domestic Dispute

This is craziness! In a nutshell, this couple in New Mexico got into a really bad fight while they were house-sitting.

At one point in the argument, he asked "did you call the sheriffs," which a smart home device understood as a prompt to call 911. So the police came! It is a really good thing they did because the boyfriend was armed and making threats to kill his girlfriend.

“The unexpected use of this new technology to contact emergency services has possibly helped save a life,"

Manuel Gonzales III, Bernalillo County Sheriff, said in a statement to ABC News.
