I rarely use my platform to get advice for my own personal situations. Actually, that is a bold faced lie. I do it pretty frequently on my morning radio show.

I just know that I am not the only parent of a young child who is going through this phase. If you and I have the same shared experience I would love to know how you navigated it.

Trigger warning: The content I am about to share involves baby poop. If you are trying to enjoy your morning cup of coffee or lunch and would not like to consume baby poop related content at this time this may not be the article for you.

Okay. You're still here?! EXCELLENT!

Let's talk "Aquadumps"

I give my 17-month-old daughter a bath every single night before bedtime as part of our routine. She loves it and it has just become a really nice way for us to unwind after the day. HOWEVER the last five nights in a row, my baby has gone number two in the tub. The first time I thought it was just a fluke. I even laughed about it. The second time I became more concerned. By the third time I began to think she is definitely doing it on purpose.

When it happens it is obviously a bath ender. I have to take her out immediately and sanitize the tub. The last time she did it she still had shampoo in her hair but I had to take her out because I wasn't going to rinse her hair with the contaminated water. I had to rinse her hair in the kitchen sink. This did not please her.

What the heck do I do about this?

Should I change her bath time to before dinner? It's so nice to get her squeaky clean before bed! Should I put her in a swim diaper for bath time? That doesn't seem comfortable and also how am I supposed to get her completely clean if she's rocking a diaper in the tub?

I am at a loss here and am really hoping some fellow parents of littles can help guide me through this aquadump journey. Please feel free to shoot me a message on Instagram if you have any advice. Thanks for reading!

Sincerely,

A mama who misses doodie free baths
