There is a new kind of football coming to New England beaches; specifically Hampton Beach, New Hampshire.

About a year ago, former New England Patriot and two-time Super Bowl champ Tully Banta-Cain announced that he was going to start the world's first tackle football league ON SAND.

Yes. The beach.

Tryouts are taking place on August 31 on Hampton Beach, right in front of Bernie's Beach Bar.

There is a lot to break down, so let's start with who will be there.

According to the Portsmouth Herald, former Patriots Devin McCourty and Jamie Collins will be in attendance at the Hampton Beach tryouts on Labor Day Weekend.

But the league itself has a ton of former NFL superstars supporting it, and even playing in the first exhibition game, including Terrell Owens, Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones, Jamie Collins, Devin McCourty, Patrick Willis, Dexter McCluster, Lorenzo Alexander, Bryant McKinnie, Prince Amukamara, Tre Williams, and Corey Dillon, according to a USA Today article.

What the heck is it?

This is a legit tackle football game. On the beach. With eight players on each team.

The hope is to create a new football league. Similar to a 3v3 basketball league, arena football, or the Savannah Bananas baseball, this is taking an already-existing sport and making it "different, "fun," or "special."

I love this concept, and think it will be super entertaining.
