It's the most important meal of the day. You know I am talking about breakfast!

Going out for breakfast starts any day on the best note possible. From kids to adults, going to a good, local, family-operated breakfast joint puts a smile on any face.

You might even smile bigger knowing that you are eating at the best breakfast joint in your state, or even the country.

But where in New Hampshire is that?

I'll tell you. It's here at Polly's Pancake Parlor.

According to a LoveFood article, Polly's Pancake Parlor is the #1 breakfast spot in the state of New Hampshire.

According to the article:

Located on the aptly named Sugar Hill, Polly’s Pancake Parlor is a rustic diner, known for its lovely light pancakes, that has been delighting customers since 1938. Choose a batter from options such as cornmeal, buckwheat, and oatmeal, plus add-ins like chocolate chips and blueberries, or order a sampler. The real fun starts when the 'Maple Tray' arrives loaded with real maple syrup, a maple sugar shaker, and maple frosting in a squeezy bottle, at no extra charge.

The diner is cute and rustic, but the views are breathtaking. Similar to the 85-year-old diner, the views are timeless.

But the history of this 85-year-old, award-winning spot is really neat too.

Below is the view from Polly's overlooking the White Mountains. Just stunning.

The land Polly's was settled on in the early 1800s was used to ship maple all over the country. Very typical of New Hampshire.

According to Polly's Pancake Parlor website:

In 1938, during the great depression, they devised a way to highlight their maple products by opening up a tearoom and serving pancakes!

“Polly’s Pancake Parlor” was born. Wilfred and Polly had a daughter Nancy. Nancy married Roger Aldrich in 1949 and in that year took over the management of “Polly’s Pancake Parlor. They expanded the menu, the season and Polly’s began to reach the entire nation!

If your family visits the White Mountains and drives through the Franconia area, you have to stop in Sugar Hill at the #1 breakfast spot in New Hampshire.
