Let's face it, the cost of traveling isn't getting any cheaper. But the average American still has the desire to travel and see what the rest of the country has to offer. Budget-friendly motels play a crucial role in giving millions of Americans the opportunity to travel when they other wise my not be able to due to financial constraints.

In this age of boutique hotels and Airbnbs, budget friendly motels get a bad reputation. But just because a place is "no frills" doesn't mean it's disgusting! Many of these places have all of the comforts of home. Let's not forget they are vital to our economy.

BadCredit.org polled travelers and asked them to name the most budget-friendly towns and cities across America for lodging. Typically, that would be a motel. Out of the Top 150 places, three New Hampshire towns made the list.

#50 North Conway

North Conway is one of the most gorgeous towns in the White Mountains; home to Diana's Baths and Cranmore mountain.

This town has a quaint downtown, great antique shops and is home to the infamous Harlow's Pub.

The River House has very modest accommodations nestled alongside the Contoocook river starting at $91 a night in the off season.

#110 Wolfeboro

Not going to lie, when I think of Wolfeboro, the word "affordable" is not the first word to come to mind. Maybe I associate the town with famous people since Jimmy Fallon was just spotted there at Wolfeboro Antiques & Artisan Barn.

Even though this scenic quintessential New England town looks like a postcard, you can still find accommodations that won't break the bank, such as the Suite Inn on Depot Street!

I was surprised to see no Seacoast New Hampshire towns on this list! I can see not mentioning Portsmouth or Rye, but not mentioning Seabrook or Hampton is (in my humble opinion) an oversight.

The most budget-friendly destination in New England is Manchester, Vermont! It ranked right outside of the Top 10. Manchester is known for its charming marble sidewalks and four-season activity list alongside a handful of cute and affordable places to stay.
