Citywide Parking Ban Begins Saturday In Dover As Winter Storm Arrives
The first big winter storm of 2019 is bearing down on New England.
That means the City of Dover will institute a citywide parking ban. According to the Dover Police Department's Facebook page, the citywide ban begins at 10 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19 and concludes at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, except for the downtown, which will be in effect on Sunday, Jan. 20, from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m., and on Monday, Jan. 21, from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.
The US National Weather Service in Gray, ME is calling for significant snowfall and potentially dangerous conditions over the weekend.
People living along the coast, and inland, could see anywhere between 12 and 18 inches of accumulation. Maybe a little more around Keene, NH. But the Weather Service is quick to point out that could change depending on the path of the storm.
According to maps on their Facebook page, the snow should start piling up Saturday night. Expect more snow...and maybe some ice on Sunday. Travel conditions will definitely be tough.
Perhaps the best news is that Monday is a holiday for a lot of people...including students in New Hampshire and Maine. So that should cut down on the morning commute.
Enjoy the snow if you're a winter enthusiast. And be safe now matter what.
