(Dover, NH) - Just when you though it was safe to park overnight on Dover City streets, a winter storm is forcing City officials to extend the parking ban.

The winter parking ban usually runs from December 1st to April 1st, but the National Weather Service is predicting that Dover could get 6 to 10 inches of heavy, wet snow in the storm that arrives Friday and ends Saturday.

Dover Police Chief Tony Colarusso has extended the ban until 6 am on Sunday, April 2.

Vehicles parked on city streets and hampering snow removal operations could be ticketed and towed at the owners expense.
