I think many people who grew up with the Monopoly board game are going to be 'sew' disappointed with this news.

It's thumbs down for the iconic 'THIMBLE.' The game piece, which has been around since 1935 will not be part of the latest version of 'Monopoly,' expected to be released later this year.

Some four million votes were cast last month to decide if the original eight game tokens should stay or go. It looks like board gamers had no allegiance to the thimble. It may not be the only piece retired. Hasbro won't reveal the final results of the vote until March 19, and Jonathan Berkowitz, senior vice president of marketing for Hasbro Gaming said "there is a possibility other classic pieces were also voted out." "We were a little bit surprised that the thimble got among the lowest votes because it's been in the game for so long," said Berkowitz.
