There comes a point in life when you catch yourself saying something and immediately think... "that sounded exactly like my dad."

Maybe it's "Turn off that light." Maybe it's "We've got food at home." Or maybe it's one of those life lessons you rolled your eyes at as a kid but now find yourself repeating to your own children, friends, or coworkers. ":OMG... I just became my Dad!"

That's the inspiration behind "My Dad's Voice," Garret and Katie's new Father's Day song that looks at the relationship between dads and daughters through a funny, relatable, and surprisingly emotional lens.

As kids, dads seem larger than life. They're the ones teaching us how to ride a bike, throw a ball, change a tire, and navigate the world. They're also the ones reminding us to close the door, check the oil, and somehow finding a way to turn every trip to the hardware store into a life lesson.

The funny thing is, many of those lessons don't really make sense until years later when we find ourselves putting them to use or teaching them to our own kids.

The song starts with some classic dad humor and familiar dad-isms, but at its heart, it's about something deeper. It's about realizing that the values, advice, work ethic, and quiet support our fathers gave us become part of who we are.

As Father's Day approaches, it's a reminder to appreciate the dads, stepdads, grandfathers, and father figures who helped shape our lives, whether they taught us through words, actions, or simply by showing up.

Take a listen to "My Dad's Voice" and see if it reminds you of someone. Fair warning: you may find yourself calling Dad afterward.

Happy Father's Day.
