2 Huge Country Artists Coming to New Hampshire That You Can’t Miss This Summer
With the Winter weather that New England has had this past season, even the thought of good music under a beautiful sky on a Summer night is enough to put us in a good mood. It's a total bonus that these artists are two that we absolutely love. Darius Rucker and Jelly Roll are coming to BankNH Pavilion in Gilford.
This Concert Season in New Hampshire is Going to be Off the Hook
Darius Rucker has been in our musical hearts since the early '90's when he was the lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish. They had a string of hits like, "Hold My Hand," I Only Wanna Be With You," and "Let Her Cry."
Last Year, Scotty McCreery put out "Bottle Rockets" with Hootie and the Blowfish which put them back in the spotlight.
Darius announced he was going into the Country genre in 2008. He released "Don't Think I Don't Think About It" that year and he became the first Black Artist to reach number 1 on the country charts since Charley Pride in 1983. My opinion is that Darius doesn't want to be defined by a genre. He just loves good music.
Darius collaborates with all kinds of musicians. Here's one of my favorites that he recorded with Robert Randolph and the Family Band:
Can You Believe Jelly Roll is Coming to New Hampshire??
Jelly Roll used to be a rapper, but he always loved country. He has received Best New Artist at the 2023 CMA Awards proclaiming, "the windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror." Jelly is an inspiration.
It's hard to pick a favorite Jelly Roll song. They are all filled with amazing hooks, great lyrics and more emotion that I can take. If Jelly sings it, I'll probably shed a tear or two.
Jelly Roll had a troubled young life, serving time in prison. He has taken all that life experience and turned out hit after hit. He's not afraid to sing about really hard things. He's lived it.

The duet Jelly does with Lainey Wilson makes me WEEP. Friggin' country music, Man. It'll do that to you.
