We're not sure what it is about Maine, but according to a USA Today article, we are home to a lot of UFO sightings compared to the rest of the country.

The National UFO Reporting Center keeps a running list reports of UFOs across the country and 24/7 Wall Street found that New England is a hot spot of UFO sightings. Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont all ranked in the top 5 for UFO sightings from  2001 to 2015 per 100,000 people.

Maine ranked third in the nation with 949 sightings reported between 2001 and 2015, which works out to 71 sightings per 100,000 people in Maine. New Hampshire wasn't far behind at number 5 with 932 reports. Vermont topped the list with 504 reports, but its lower population ranked them number one at 80.8 sightings per 100,000 people. The math makes my head hurt, but it essentially evens the playfield so that all states are measured equally, since big states like California will naturally have more actual reports than Maine.

Despite all the reports, none of them turn out to be actual aliens from another world, unless you believe the government is hiding something from us.

Back in May, hundreds of UFO reports were sent when people noticed strange lights in the sky travelling in a line. Turns out they are SpaceX Starlink satellites that were launched the week prior.
