David Ortiz Spent Wednesday Night in Maine
A little over a month ago, it was announced that David Ortiz was moving to Maine. Well, sort of. According to the Bangor Daily News, David Ortiz's brand of premium marijuana products would be teaming up with JAR Cannabis Co. for a partnership that starts in April. Papi Cannabis products will be available at JAR locations throughout Maine starting in April.
April is here, and so is Big Papi. On Wednesday evening, the companies came together to host a kickoff party at Luna rooftop bar inside the Canopy Hotel on Commercial Street in Portland. Enthusiastic employees and guests got a chance to meet the Hall of Fame slugger, and some even got to snap some photos with him.
Ortiz spent several hours in the Old Port on Wednesday afternoon and evening. He stopped by the JAR Cannabis location in the Old Port and snapped a photo with one of the employees.
Similar to when his eyes lit up at fastballs he could crush on the baseball diamond, David Ortiz has been going full throttle with his business ventures since retirement from baseball. Papi Cannabis and his signature "sweet slugger blunts" were developed in a partnership with Massachusetts-based cannabis company Rev. They've been hit in the commonwealth, and Papi Cannabis saw an opportunity to diversify the portfolio.
JAR Cannabis Co. currently operates four shops throughout Maine. They have locations in Portland's Old Port, South Portland, Windham, and Newry near Sunday River. Papi Cannabis "sweet slugger" blunts will range in price from $18 to $50.
