There’s just something about fresh flowers that instantly makes me happy. Whether it’s a bouquet brightening up the kitchen counter, visiting a local flower field on a sunny afternoon, or gifting flowers to someone “just because,” it’s one of my favorite simple pleasures in life. They bring color, warmth, and a little bit of joy into everyday life.

That’s why Downtown Dover’s upcoming Bouquet Walk sounds like the perfect way to kick off June!

On Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., businesses in downtown Dover will be gifting stems with each purchase. Depending on what businesses you visit or how many, you will have a perfectly crafted homemade bouquet to keep in your house by the time you're done shopping.

Events like this are part of what makes Dover feel so special. The city consistently finds ways to bring people together while supporting local businesses in creative and meaningful ways. Instead of simply shopping, this turns a normal Saturday into an experience; one where neighbors, families, and friends can stroll through town together with flowers in hand, and maybe even discover a new favorite business.

And honestly, I already know I’d leave carrying way more flowers than I planned because fresh flowers are my weakness. There’s just something about having them in your home that makes a space feel happier and more alive.
