Emily Spencer, Our Miss New Hampshire, Headed to Miss America Competition

We love us some Emily Spencer!

Shortly after she was crowned the 78th Miss New Hampshire 2024 she came by the studio and gave Logan some pointers on his "pageant walk".

It was one of the most fun we've had in studio all year:

Pageant girlies from far and wide came out to support Logan and his efforts in that video. We were pretty proud of him.

But back to Emily!

How did Emily end up as Miss New Hampshire 2024?

The 23-year-old Bedford resident has lived in Bedford since the first grade, attending Peter Woodbury School and actively participating in the Bedford community. After graduating from Bedford High School, she attended Point Park University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and fourth in her class last May, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet and Modern Dance with a Minor in Biology.

Emily has been participating in the Miss New Hampshire program since 2016, when she earned her first title as Miss Bedford’s Outstanding Teen in 2017, followed by Miss Bedford in 2019. Throughout her years in the Miss America program, she has accumulated $70,000 in tuition scholarships, significantly contributing to her higher education. Emily aspires to return to school to earn her doctorate in Physical Therapy.

On April 27th Emily was representing Miss Winnipesaukee and was awarded Best Overall Talent for the second consecutive year for her self-choreographed lyrical dance to “One Moment in Time” by Whitney Houston. She also won the Preliminary Evening Wear Award and the Sisterhood Award. With the title of Miss New Hampshire, Emily received a $20,000 tuition scholarship.

What is the mission of the Miss New Hampshire program?

The Miss New Hampshire program aims to inspire and serve as a role model for young women, sharing their passions and life journeys while continuing the legacy of the Miss America competition. The primary role of Miss New Hampshire and all local titleholders is to promote their platforms and serve their communities through various service opportunities.

Emily's community service initiative, "Inspiring Inclusivity through Education and Opportunities," has allowed her to partner with Best Buddies and Special Olympics. Through these partnerships, she has attended and volunteered at numerous events across the state, helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities find their voice and reach their full potential.

Emily has actively participated in the Best Buddy Walk, Polar Plunge, and Special Olympics Summer Games. She has also been involved with the Bedford Bulldogs Adaptive Cheer team since its inception in 2013, serving as an assistant coach and attending the AYC National Cheer Competition in Orlando, Florida, with the team.

In addition, Emily is the founder and director of her nonprofit, Miss Inspiration. In January 2024, the first Miss Inspiration was crowned at McKelvie School. This pageant, modeled after the Miss America program, provides young women with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to participate in a pageant and earn scholarship money. The second annual Miss Inspiration pageant took place this past November:

Emily has represented the state of New Hampshire with so much pride and grace.

It's hard to believe in just a few short weeks she will be traveling to Orlando, Florida to compete for the title of Miss America.
