Erin McBride from Stratham, New Hampshire has been through ALOT since 2018. Today she will be crossing the Boston Marathon Finish line but you won't believe what it took to get here.

According to the Portsmouth Herald, The 39-year-old mama of two is a proud New Hampshirite. She graduated from Exeter High School in 2004. In 2018 she was grieving the loss of her mom who left this earth way too soon. Her mom was only 59 and had uterine cancer. Navigating life and motherhood without your own mom present is a tough pill to swallow.

To make things more complicated, Erin was diagnosed with a brain tumor this very same year AND she was pregnant with her second child at the time. This is too much for one person to have to endure at once but Erin persevered!

The plan was that Erin would deliver her baby and then undergo brain surgery. It became clear that was not an option when Erin's condition got worse and she was having seizures as frequently as 3 minutes apart. The doctors had no choice but to operate while she was still pregnant. Doctors were able to remove approximately 50% of Erin's tumor, and both Erin and her baby survived the surgery. Her son William was born and is now almost 6 years old.

Erin wasn't too optimistic about her future when she first got her diagnosis, she feared the worst, that she wouldn't be around to see her children grow up. But that all changed when she got a second opinion from the team at Mass General Hospital. So today she is running on the Mass General Hospital Boston Marathon team. She is raising money for the medical team who gave her hope and literally saved her life!

Every single person running today is so inspiring but Erin's story really stuck out to me because of all she has been through. Soak up every minute of that run Erin and when you cross that finish line just know what a huge inspiration you are to so many. YOU GO, GIRL! We are so proud of you.
