FBI Joins Search for Concord, NH, Couple’s Killer
The FBI is now involved in the search for whoever killed a Concord couple as they walked on a wooded trail near their home.
Stephen Reid, 67, and wife Djeswende Reid, 66, were found shot to death on the Broken Ground Trails Thursday evening, according to Attorney General John M. Formella. The manner of death was homicide for both.
Kristen Setera, a spokeswoman for the FBI's Boston office, told Seacoast Current on Tuesday the agency has joined the investigation at the request of the state Department of Justice.
"However, we are going to refrain from characterizing the nature of our assistance in order to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation," Setrea said in a statement.
Law enforcement has been searching the area around the trail for several days, but the Attorney General's office has not updated the case. Concord's police chief told WMUR that residents should be "vigilant", and did not have any specific information that the public is in any danger.
Police asked anyone with information on the shootings to call Concord Crimeline at 603-226-3100.
