Massachusetts Man Goes Viral After Catching Foul Ball with Fried Dough at Red Sox Game
Have you ever been featured on the jumbotron at a sports game? What a triumphant moment it is! It encourages me to dance like a fool and cheer my head off so I can get some screen time (even if I'm not really invested in the game itself).
Back in 2015, I was featured on TV at a Celtics game and could have fooled everyone into thinking I was a diehard basketball fan!
A few years back a mom from Greenland, New Hampshire, Donna Hunkins had her moment on the Jumbotron, on Mother's Day no less!
Donna's four daughters gifted her with a tee shirt that said "BEST MOM EVER". It's a good thing she rocked that tee because it set her apart from the rest of the moms in the crowd! (that and her dazzling personality) She received some well deserved jumbotron time!
More recently a man from Ipswich, Massachusetts, had moment of glory on the big screen this past Thursday night's game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Even though the season just started, something tells me we will be talking about this for months or even years to come.
According to WCVB, an Ipswich resident named Max Kivekas used his fried dough to catch a foul ball. He told the news station he used the fried dough like a catcher's mitt.
The entire stadium erupted in celebration! I would be riding that high for weeks! What a fun story to tell at dinner parties. Someone even bought Max a beer for his big catch; well deserved!
Max said that all of the seams had powdered sugar all over it, as you can imagine, so he had to shake off that bad boy. He will be saving the fried dough for memories sake.
The moment of course went viral on social media and whether Max like's it or not, he will now be deemed "The Fried Dough Catcher" until further notice.
