Malls used to be all the rage. I spent a large portion of my teen years bopping around the Searstown Mall in Leominster, Massachusetts, which is now known as the Mall at Whitney Field.

If you weren't slathering your body with all of the free samples of Cucumber Melon scented products at Bath & Body Works and walking out of the store without purchasing a thing, were you even a teen in the early 2000s?

I loved the mall so much that I got a job there as soon as I could and started slinging studded belts and unlocking fitting rooms for skater boys at Pacsun. *sigh* Those were the days.

Most malls are now quite desolate as most people do their shopping from the convenience of their couch.

The closest mall in proximity to me is the Mall at Fox Run in Newington, New Hampshire.

This poor mall has seen better days. More than 50% of the stores sit vacant. It really serves as a place where moms take their babies on stroller walks on cold days (I do it! It's a great option!) and where older people get their steps in the wee hours of the morning.

Back when malls were hustling and bustling, I'm sure this mall was a whole scene!

Michael Chasse posted in the Facebook group Seacoast Eats asking the group members if they can remember what restaurants once occupied the old Buffalo Wild Wings spot. The comments took us on a stroll down memory lane, literally.

(supposedly they had the best onion rings this side of the Piscataqua)

There are currently Ixtapa locations in Lunenburg, MA, and Groton, MA! I'm wondering if the Fox Run Mall location was the same owner! If you have any insight into the matter let a sister know.

Shorty's Mexican Roadhouse

I love Shorty's! I've been to the locations in Nashua and Bedford, the one at the Fox Run Mall was before my time.

Man, it would be awesome to have a Shorty's so close to me. I will be manifesting a Shorty's resurgence in 2025 on the Seacoast of New Hampshire.

If this arcade had Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revolution then you would certainly find me on any given Saturday in the early 2000's wasting all of my money and dancing my face off.

There was also mention of a two-level Burger King (baller) and a place called York Steak house. Judging by the people arguing in the comments, it sounds like those existed in the mall but not in the exact Buffalo Wild Wings location.

Now that we've discussed this mall's past, let's dream about its future. What stores could potentially bring this mall back to life?
