Frigid Temps & Snow Return to New Hampshire & Maine to Kick Off the Last Week of March

It's been fabulous hasn't it?  Temperatures on the New Hampshire and Maine Seacoast as well as suburban Boston were above average from March 14 to March 21 according to AccuWeather, giving the entire northeast the longest string of above-normal days since mid-December.

But the party's over.  So grab your coats, gloves, earmuffs, hats, and even possibly your snow boots.

I know, I know, our abnormally warm weather temps felt amazing as we excitedly hit the first official day of spring.  We were smiling, and many donned shorts, went coat-free, dined alfresco, and spent more time outside with our dogs.

However, we know how Mother Nature enjoys fooling New England into a false sense of excitement each spring. So, it's no surprise that cold temperatures are returning with even a small possibility of snow for the New Hampshire and Maine Seacoast to kick off the last week of March.  Plus, the wind could really pack that extra punch.

AccuWeather forecasters say that a polar vortex heading our way will bring us back to winter temps ranging in the teens to low 30's for a few days.

As of now, the snow should stay in the northern portions of Maine and New Hampshire. However, AccuWeather says that the polar vortex is weakening and when that happens, the cold weather heads further south from Canada.  Because of this weakening, we could even see snow if the moisture with this polar vortex dips even further south.
