High School Student Rescues Woman From Lake Winnipasaukee
This is my worst driving nightmare...plunging my car into the water. God forbid it ever happens...but if it does I hope there's a hero like the one in this story.
An 18-year-old high school student from Kingswood Regional High School jumped into Lake Winnipasaukee to rescue a woman from her car after she drove off the Wolfeboro town dock and into the water.
WMTW-TV reports Zachary Cray was fishing when he heard the car crash and then splash into the water. Zachary dropped his pole, grabbed his phone, and called 9-1-1.
Then he jumped in the water, and with the help of a few other bystanders, pulled the woman out from behind the wheel through an open window.
Rescue workers told WMUR-TV it looks as if the woman hit the gas instead of the brake before driving off the end of the dock. Thankfully she wasn't hurt, according to the report.
