Hooksett Officials “Alarmed” About Gigantic Brewery Planned In Their Town
Shipyard brewing wants to put up a $36 million brewing and co-packing facility, but hasn't submitted proper paperwork.
Last week, we brought you a story where Shipyard Brewing founder Fred Forsley had teamed with Valencia Realty Capital and State Street Realty Advisors on a proposed $36 million contract brewing and co-packing facility in Hooksett. In time, the area might also include an events center, a four-story hotel, a winery and several restaurants.
This is news to the town.
According to the Union Leader, Hooksett town planner Nicholas Williams said “we really don’t know much about it.” “Quite honestly, it’s a little alarming to me that they’re advertising it the way that they are.” “While town staff are aware of the proposal, no formal plans have been submitted.” He detailed a list of hurdles, including water supply and zoning. “It’s interesting to me that they would be shooting for a late 2020 opening date. As of right now, we haven’t even seen a plan.”
Ouch.
However, Williams made clear that Hooksett welcomes new businesses like Shipyard, but emphasized that the facility was still a long way off, according to the Union Leader.
