How To Clean Your Microwave In 5 Easy Minutes
Even though I enjoy a clean house, the microwave is the one appliance I HATE to clean.
The internet suggests the easiest way to clean caked on grease and grime from your microwave requires just two ingredients: vinegar and water!
Sounded easy enough to me, so I gave it shot.
This is my microwave, 'before' the cleaning.
I usually put this chore off until I can't stand looking at it any longer.
As the article suggested, I let the water/vinegar solution heat for 5 minutes,
(I then left the bowl in the microwave for about two minutes longer so the steam could work its' magic.)
*I took the glass tray out before 'steaming' the microwave. While the solution was heating up, I took the glass tray to the sink for a cleaning.*
When the time was up, I used a wet dish towel (used hot water) and a little elbow grease but the steam helped loosen up some of the caked on grossness. All in all, it was about a 10 minute process from start to finish. Pretty satisfied with the results.
Here are the 'after' photos.
It looks so clean now that I don't want to use it!
Just be careful when you remove the bowl from the microwave because it will be really hot (so will the water inside the bowl!). If you leave the glass tray in during the 'steam period,' be careful removing that as well.
