New Hampshire is Home to One of the Nation’s Top Lake Vacation Destinations

Considering the natural beauty of our state, this shouldn't come as a shock. We New Hampshirites are really lucky when it comes to the scenery around us, and tourists flock to the area to experience it firsthand.

But did you know that New Hampshire is home to one of the top lake vacation destinations in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report?

The media company shared a list of 32 lakes to add to your vacation bucket list, and as expected, several New England spots were featured. Maine's Moosehead Lake was highlighted, as was the Lake Champlain Islands of Vermont. But no nature-related list would be complete without a representative from the Granite State, and that would be none other than Lake Winnipesaukee.

Anyone who's spent time in the Lakes Region knows that the 72-square-mile Lake Winnipesaukee is more than meets the eye.

Vacationers love boating, kayaking, swimming, jet skiing, and sailing in Lake Winnipesaukee's crystal-blue waters, dotted with islands like Becky's Garden. Various parks and beaches provide beautiful views and swimming opportunities, and the lakeside town of Wolfeboro has plenty of shopping and dining options for all to enjoy. When it's time to lay your head down at night, U.S. News praises the wide range of accommodations in the area, particularly the Airbnbs and campgrounds.
