In Loving Memory of Laura Cole, One of Our Favorite WOKQ Listeners
Laura and Jason Cole are as nice and genuine as they come. They are huge WOKQ listeners and would grace us with their presence at events and concerts. They are an absolute blast. One of our listeners shared some tragic news with us today. Laura passed away last week during a medical procedure. Laura was only 33 years old and had a lot more living to do. She, Jason and the kids just moved to their dream home in Alfred, Maine. She was an outdoor enthusiast, a small business owner, a philanthropist, beloved mama and stepmama, wife, daughter and friend. Jason describes her perfectly,
"She had a passion to live every day to its fullest. She didn’t want to sleep, as she felt she could do something to help someone".
In honor of Laura, I wanted to share some of my favorite memories with her over the years.
Laura and Jason came into the studio to have breakfast with us on a few occasions! Laura even took me on in "Kan't Beat Kira". If my memory serves me, she was not able to beat me but she was a great sport and so much fun on the air!
Here we are sporting WOKQ backpacks for back to school!
Laura and Jason would rock those neon tees like no other! Not everyone can pull of that color as well as these two.
My heart is broken for the long list of people who knew and loved Laura. If you can find it in your heart to help the family with their funeral costs, it would mean so much.
Laura's life will be celebrated this Saturday, March 6th, at the Sanford Calvary Baptist Church at 47 High Street in Sanford, Maine. Guests are encouraged to wear something green, in honor of Laura.
