Traffic Alert – Piscataqua River Bridge Lane Closures
According to an article on the WABI website, people who often travel between Maine and New Hampshire using the Piscatqua River Bridge should be aware that safety inspections on the bridge will lead to occasional lane closures.
The article explains that the Maine Department of Transportation will be conducting a routine safety inspection of the Piscataqua River Bridge, which carries I-95 between Kittery and Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Officials say drivers should expect shoulder closures in both directions during the inspection period.
The work will take place over the next two weeks, with crews inspecting the bridge Monday through Thursday. Inspections will resume Monday, May 18, and are expected to wrap up on Thursday, May 21, according to Maine DOT.
The shoulder closures will be in place from 8:30 AM to 4 PM on inspection days.
That being said, you should just allow a little extra time to get where you are going. Alternatively, you could take a different route to get to your destination.
