Maybe I’m just getting older, I did just turn 40, but one of the biggest conversations my wife and I have every single day is, “What are we eating, and where are we getting it?”

Seriously. We can talk about a million other things, but somehow we always end up back at food. What sounds good? What do we have at home? Do we want to go out? And most importantly… what are YOU in the mood for?

And in Maine, we have A LOT of options. And I’m not talking about grabbing something quick because you forgot to eat until 2:30. I mean a real lunch.

The kind where you sit down, look at the menu for way too long, and immediately start thinking to myself Oh that looks good too!

Where Are We Eating Today in Maine?

We recently asked Mainers where they think you should go for a great lunch, and apparently, you guys have opinions. A LOT of opinions.

Some of the spots that came up are longtime favorites, while others might be places you’ve driven past a trillion times and never actually stopped into.

And honestly, those are some of my favorite recommendations, the ones that make you wonder how you didn’t know about them sooner.

I’m especially in love with Billy’s Chowder House in Wells because, well… it’s Maine, it’s lunch, and there’s chowder involved. That feels like a pretty safe bet.

And Becky’s Diner in Portland, don't get me started.. this spot is another one that just screams classic Maine lunch.
